Movies Boooyah!

Meet Dave So I finally got to see this movie and although it wasn’t amazing, it was pretty darn funny and I would recommend it for a watch or two. Heck I might even buy it someday on DVD if I can find it cheap. I didn’t really expect that much out of it other than it looked pretty funny, and that is was. The storyline is interesting enough, it’s not THAT original or anything but I didn’t get bored with it, and the humor in the movie was pretty good as well. It wasn’t forced like many family type comedies seem to do. Of course Eddie Murphy is what makes the movie, his expressions and little quirky actions are awesome. I won’t spoil anything by giving details though. If you are looking for a nice Friday night rental, try this one out. It’s clean, fun humor.

yesmanposter I went to see this one on Valentines, since my boy and I couldn’t find anything else worth going to. I really didn’t know what it was all about and had forgotten that Jim Carey had made a new movie. I didn’t have any expectations of this movie other than I hoped it would be pretty funny and not a waste of 10 bucks. Well, it was worth seeing. Maybe not one I would have normally seen in theaters but it’s at least worthy of a rent. It kind of reminded me a bit of Liar Liar only instead of his character being forced into telling the truth the character voluntarily decided to start saying yes to everything. The actors in this one are good and the story has a good moral to it, life is short so get out and live life rather than playing it safe and just watching it go by. If you are a fan of Carey this would be a good one for you. It’s not his best but it’s not bad either. As with Meet Dave, this is a good Friday night rental.

Transporter 3 Well I really liked the first one, and the second one was ok though a bit too far fetched. Granted all movies like this are far fetched but they still need to retain some believability. Anyways this third one lost ALL of that. It’s pretty much like the first one only the chick is extremely annoying. So many times I wished he would have just dropped her off a cliff. Some of the stunts done in it were just like, yeah sure… Like driving off a bridge onto a train and not having it slip off any bit at all. Or when the car sinks into a river that he can just magically start the engine up once he get’s it towed out to dry land, and WHY is the interior of the car not wet? Isn’t it supposed to be just a normal car with a few customizations to it? It’s not super car. This movie is ok if you are a die hard fan of the first two maybe give it a rent, but if not, skip it, go watch Die Hard or something. That is one series that never went stale even though there are four of them.

So those are my thoughts on some movies I have seen over the last month or so…I could have written more about them maybe but I didn’t want this to be the super long entry of d00m. Anyways! New art is up and I’ll be working on my demo reel a lot in the next couple week so I might actually have something to show soon. Woohoo! :P
