Whiney Artists
Ok so I’m getting back on track with things which brings me to another one of my pet peeves!
People who whine to me about how nobody takes interest in their art, they never get comments or favs, or the big one pageviews. With me I really couldn’t care how many or how few I get. I do appreciate any and all feedback, well some more than others depending on what is said I will admit that, but it always helps to get some kind of feedback. It’s what has kept me posting my stuff online. Anyways, I get really tired of artists that come up to me and whine about how nobody looks at their art and comments and then beg me to come look at it. Or the ones that “befriend me” just to get page views and attention. I think the latter annoys me more than the whiners.
I dunno really what they want to obtain by coming to me. I’m not like net famous nor am I able to give them the attention or fans they desire. So it’s pretty much fruitless. It’s also a really good way to never get to know me as it does nothing but annoy me.
Most of the time there’s a good reason why these people lack popular artist title. One they whine TOO much and their art doesn’t make up for it. Otherwise known as, they don’t draw well. Two they might draw well enough but their attitude towards everyone will come off as either drama llama or that they have a huge ego. I have seen this happen even in a grown man about the age of my father. He was even a published artist, but people weren’t bowing down at his feet online and he threw a fit about it. I was really amazed. Then he was saying he didn’t have to act professional on the site but you should at least retain a bit of professionalism or remain nice to people regardless of where you are. You never know when one of your coworkers or future employers might find it. It’s the net, it happens. The major problem I have with these people is though, it’s the INTERNET. This is not real life! What do they expect to obtain from getting their name splattered all over the web with hundreds of butt kissing fans? Sometimes, just sometimes it’ll lead to a real job, but most of the time it’s more of an annoyance for those who do have it. Interwebs fame, most who have it in the art world don’t want it and the ones that do want it should really be more careful what they wish for.
AND the last little blip of annoyance, people that get into art just to get attention online. What? What is the sense in that? You should draw if you enjoy it and have a passion for it, not just because you want attention from it. This is where uninspired art comes from.
So that is my little blip about that. Now I’m going to enjoy some apple cake. :P I’ll add in my random question for the post: If you draw or write what is your favorite thing to draw/write about?
